Some people were asking me how I did the skin and if I could put up a video for it. I don't have anything of how I started but I'm fixing some of her skin right now so I tried to take a video. The process is hardly visible digitally but I'm getting rid of the paper texture under her skin as much as I can at the moment. It's really slow and in doing it in layers and layers and layers. I use the side of the brush to blend and to get rid of excess water because I don't want that water-edge texture that would be really prominent on light gouache paintings.
So here it is, a video of part of the process that's hardly visible at all but I swear her skin is less bumpy when you see it in real life ?. Actually the biggest reason isn't even because it's bumpy but because her neck and body texture is really smooth so the difference is a little jarring to me.
I swear I'm going to commit seppuku over this one day.
