FINALLY - @109world is announcing the next social mission trip: #109EDUCATION IN LATVIA!

Remember back in August when I went to Latvia with the 109 team? We already knew that the situation of abandoned children in orphanages was severe but what we discovered was something even more urgent: the great need of supporting these children once they are let out of the institutions they are living in. Without proper education the risk of falling back into the cycle of unemployment, alcoholism and poverty is far too high.

Latvia is one of the poorest countries within the European Union and a country that struggles with high unemployment and poverty. A third of the population live under risk of poverty or social exclusion, something that has deeply affected the family way of life. Alcoholism, crime, and abuse is far too common, causing parents to abandon their children. These kids are most often placed in state-run institutions and orphanages that do not have the proper resources to fully take care of them and most importantly: prepare them for the future. Most children have to leave at the age of 15 and then have nowhere to go and no education. The result? History repeats itself.
We cannot break this vicious cycle without giving the next generation the necessary tools to develop into loving individuals with ambitions to thrive. You can help give these kids a second chance in life! JOIN @109world IN LATVIA MAY 26-30, 2016 where we are raising money to improve the standard of living in these orphanages, and if we raise enough, provide a few of them with a complete education. My beautiful friend and @oneoeight.tv guide @lara.heimann will be teaching yoga every morning and leading the group together with the 109 team.
