The @NFL must have decided to pay homage to California’s car culture when it positioned the @superbowl50 headquarters in San Francisco’s Union Square, 44 miles from @levisstadium in Santa Clara, where the big game will be played. The corridor, mostly along Highway 101, is a time capsule of the Bay Area’s history and its many quirks, as well as a modern-day testament to its traffic problems. On Thursday, the @nytimessports reporter Karen Crouse and photographer @jasonhenry took a little #roadtrip on Highway 101, exploring landmarks along the route to @levisstadium. In Palo Alto, they took a breather at Bowden Park, where @jasonhenry captured this oh-so-California statue. This #nytweekender, we’re taking you to the #SuperBowl. #?
