??? We need your help!!! If you want to see how the NYSVMS, the vet trade association for the state of New York, is working hard to kill a bill that is GOOD for cats, but bad for vets who make their living off amputating kitties toes, then please click on the link on my bio.
They actually say that this bill to ban declawing would, "adversely affect animals and their owners." They are PROUD that they stopped the bill last year...but guess what... it is still alive and back on the table now.
They even say, "We cannot allow the government to decide what is the best care for our patients."
Hmmm, last I checked, this non-therapeutic procedure is banned in most of the rest of the world because it is so inhumane and disabling. Vets in the rest of the world call it "mutilation" and are appalled that vets in North America would do it at all, since it goes against the "First do No Harm" and "Heal and Help oath" that vets take. #greed
The NYSVMS is spending a ton of money hiring lobbyists to propagate untruths. They must be spending over $10,000/ month to protect their right to mutilate cat paws!
Imagine if they spent that money on helping cats through spay/neuter programs or adoptions!

Please help us spread awareness for this very important bill in NY. You truly can make a major difference and help to keep ALL kitties in New York safe from such a horrific procedure.
