I've always thought of Sea Kayaking as a winter sport born in the arctic and try to get out every year for a paddle in the dead of winter with my old friends @bikeskipaddle and @paddlelincoln To mix it up a little we decided to try and sea kayak to our own private pond hockey destination on the Maine coast. The air temp was just above Zero degrees F and the water temp was about 37 degrees F when we landed our boats on the rocky shores of Big Pond near the Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge in Steuben, ME. We had no idea whether the ice would be good and to our surprise and sheer joy, it was a perfect sheet of glass. It was one of the many days I will never forget on the coast on Maine. #sonya7r #maine @thephotosociety
