@damonwinter photographed this #aerial view of the San Joaquin #River along the eastern edge of the Westlands Water district in California’s Central Valley. This year, as the #drought continued, growers in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta in Northern California grudgingly cut production to free up water for #CentralValley farms. Farmers in this arid region west of Fresno say they need more water to keep the nation fed cheaply. Critics say the farmers' real goal is to find the cheapest water possible.
