The photographer @janstaller has spent nearly 3 decades capturing winter in New York City, those brief pure periods when the landscape is transformed. “I would go out in the middle of a blizzard when there was nary a soul to be seen,” said @janstaller, who took this photo in Battery Park City. “It’s only when the snow is still falling that you can enjoy it.” This winter in New York, snowless so far, hasn’t offered much of a chance for @janstaller, or others, to enjoy the transformation.
