The dramatic picture of the Rocky Fire in California, which had been burning for days, hearkens a 19th century painting. "It was a surreal scene to be sitting along highway 20 with dozens of firefighters who were essentially waiting for the fire to come to them," says photographer Justin Sullivan (@sullyfoto).
