Did you know that Alvar Aalto’s Armchair 400, also known as the Tank Chair, was designed already in 1936, especially for the Finnish pavilion at the Milan Triennale? The chair owes its nickname to the distinctive wide and sturdy armrests made of laminated birch and the robust upholstery. This zebra cover fabric has been a favorite since the 1930s.
