One of many abilities that cockroaches have developed over millions of years is the rate at which that they can move when they are threatened. Being essentially nocturnal they have excellent night vision and can run up to two miles an hour in short bursts. Cockroaches date back to the Carboniferous period. Cockroaches are thought to have emerged on the supercontinent Pangaea, or on Gondwana, the daughter continent of Pangaea. The cockroach made many adaptations over the years to be able to survive the major die offs to which many species succumbed. @Robert Clark @thephotosociety
