One of the greatest gifts my parents gave to me was this advice: be around those who celebrate who you are and stop chasing those who do not. Of course I have had to learn this for myself (and still learning) but their words have strengthened my spirit and backbone, and helped me steer back on course throughout the years. And for the record, it's okay if this takes awhile with new seasons. And it's also okay if others do not see your beauty and value. Not everyone will. But don't stop there. Heck no. Keep your head high, your muchness full on and keep being you. The right ones will come along. And the best and fullest part of who you are comes out in rest and being yourself, not in chasing and striving and pleasing like an endless rat race. You have infinite value, a unique voice and a fingerprint no one else has and that the world at large needs! The best (and not perfect by any means) and thriving communities do not merely compose of what each person brings to the table but also that each person is celebrated and valued for simply being there. I consider myself very lucky to know and grow with some of the best of the best out there (especially my inner circle).
