Answer: Though a bit of foresight from our founder, we chose to join IG because we felt like it was an emerging platform where beautiful imagery was prominently displayed, there was less ‘noise’ because of the mobile exclusivity, and we felt that our brand essence could be communicated more effectively than in other places. ________________________________________Q: How relevant is Instagram for a brand like yours? A: The value of Instagram resonates in many different ways for The Black Tux. As a medium to connect to our customers and followers, it’s a great way of ‘reminding’ them of us in creative and fun posts. It also functions as a customer service tool as we communicate directly with them in our posts and also encourage discussion and engagement with our followers. Finally, the value as a marketing tool is obviously not insignificant. We are learning a lot about the marketing implications and insights from Instagram and how new followers are discovering us and visiting our site. ________________________________________Q: On your last 100 media posted, you have 3 videos. Why? Is managing your account with pictures more efficient than videos? A: This is purely a bandwidth issue on our side. We haven’t yet had the opportunity to film high-quality video content but that is definitely changing. We fully intend on posting more videos of different varieties on Instagram. We have some great ideas in store and so stay tuned for that.
