Crotalus horridus, generally known as canebrake rattlesnake, timber rattlesnake or banded rattlesnake, is a species of venomous pit viper. These species, generally found in the eastern United States, is one of the most northerly distributed venomous snake in the Americas.
This is one of North America's most deadly snakes, because its long fangs, big size, and high venom yield. This is to some degree off put by its long brumation period and mild disposition.
