The view from a #mountain shelter that serves as the traditional starting point for summit-hungry climbers hoping to tackle the #Matterhorn, in Switzerland. With its clean lines, sheer faces and dramatic rise out of the Matteral valley, the #Matterhorn is considered one of the most aesthetically pleasing peaks on the planet. Climbers equipped with headlamps and ropes set out before dawn to begin their ascent to the #summit of the 14,692-foot-high mountain. In July, as enthusiasts marked the 150th anniversary of the mountain’s first #ascent, @moraphoto photographed the writer Kelley McMillan on her journey to the peak.
