This week’s #PurpleBlobOfTheWeek is a bit unorthodox. You see the bluish-purple colors in this image between Newfoundland and Western Europe? That’s a persistent area of colder than normal water temps that have been over the North Central Atlantic for the last several months. Some scientists fear this is the result of climate change and the resultant melting of ice on Greenland.
