The police department’s mounted officers patrol the streets of the Lower East Side on weekend nights, when rowdy and intoxicated crowds spill out of bars and clubs and onto the streets. @nikokoppel, a @ニューヨーク・タイムズ photo editor, has been exploring New York late at night. “After the sun sets and neon ignites, the streets take on a noirish mood,” he said.
