Sundays nights are Mexican Nights at La Boom, a nightclub in #Woodside, Queens. On Sundays, after their shifts at work are over, #Mexican waiters, cooks, dishwashers, deli workers, gardeners and handymen put on their hats and pointy boots and flock to La Boom to dance. The bands go on around midnight. The music, virtually unknown to English-speaking audiences, is known commercially as Regional Mexican, but it’s known as banda to its fans. @kirstenluce photographed the scene at La Boom on #nytassignment.
