The #PurpleBlobOfTheWeek is located in the tropical East Pacific, making its way up the Pacific coast of Baja toward Southern CA. This swell was generated from strong category 3 Hurricane Linda, which peaked in intensity yesterday with max sustained winds up to 110kts. Aside from the strength, a few other good traits of this storm for SoCal was its larger size, close proximity, and northerly track within the swell window. This swell peaked yesterday for Cabo, gradually topping out northward for each region since then. For SoCal, the SSE Linda swell will build in through this afternoon/night and peak on Thursday. For SoCal surfers, there are two big factors to keep in mind on this swell event.
1) Very selective to which regions will see the goods, due to the steep SSE angle. Many locations will be smaller, some areas much smaller or seeing none of it.
2) We also have some longer period Southern Hemi groundswell in the water. The blend of these swell angles and periods will help break up the surf a little more for beachbreaks, but reefs/points may be a little more jumbled.

As always, check out Surfline for all the details and latest updates. -- @jwarrensurfline #SurflineForecast
