This is an announcement of my two-day “Street Photography” workshop in Foligno in Italy on Oct 11 and 12, during the Umbria World Fest in the city. The class will be held in English and translated into Italian. The aim of this workshop is to capture the decisive moments with your own vision and signature.
The class description: Street photography contains a huge volume of non fictional nature, as the core part is to document what the street is like. However, the work essence of many great street photographers, as well as those of documentary, often comes from strong personal expression. This course theoretically highlights the importance of having one’s own voice and style. Major, contemporary photographers’s works are discussed. The topics include how to choose light, how to rapidly judge the street elements and how to access to strangers to develop his or her photographic skills for not only capturing decisive moments but also expressing personal view and signature. Instagram and iPhone photography are also discussed as new tool of street photography. Students go to the street with the instructor on the 2nd day to practice the real street shooting, and later on the day their work of the day will be reviewed.
