#Transformationtuesday I believe we all strive for beauty. However we fixate our focus on goals that are easy to conceive, measure, and yield. Along our explorative journey, we attribute moral implications in what we do and do not do. This shields us from the uncertainty of this great world we live in, a place of chaos, misunderstanding, and a ton of mystery. Perhaps we adhere to simplicity to refute against this inevitable disorder. And perhaps this discomfort incites us to find some level of understanding, however now we are limited because our sources that define beauty are extracted from industries that feed off a state of vulnerability. Somewhere along the way, you are told how to be beautiful. You are given means of achieving ‘character’ by chasing materialistic pursuits. You are told a smaller waist line will equate to a prosperous life and that a number the scale spits will regenerate your worth and contribute to your well-being. However, just when you think you’ve nailed it, another color will come out, and this one will flatter your jaw line way better than the one before. I call this a ‘cyclic stretch’, where beauty is constantly redefined and the flaws you learned to believe are only reaffirmed. But I’ll tell you this: A thigh gap never filled up the empty spaces I felt from within. Battered bones could never conceal a battle that extended far beneath the surface. No pounds shed could EVER compensate for the beauty I was too afraid to embrace. It was only when I learned to love myself that I set myself free. Free from the standards, the expectations, the criticism, and the hate. I learned to live in my skin, unapologetically, and unconditionally. Only then did I start to grow. ? I urge you to sit with your thoughts. Stop seeking the quick-fixes. Self-love is essential to ANY change you encounter in your life. This learning process requires patience and persistence. Start exploring your life. Be your own project and look from within. Your resolutions may be closer than you think. Keep growing. #FightForGrowth #SelfLove #Realcovery
