Last year I conquered my fear of drowning by jumping off my friends speed boat into the ocean in a life vest and it was such an amazing moment for me to conquer my worst fear, it helped me with a vest to realise that I couldn't physically drown or stay under the water because I'd always be afloat. My fear started after I was held under the water in a pool on holiday as a child and ever since then I've had panic attacks whenever I get into water. Today I went for a 5km run and then decided to try my hand at swimming after for the first time since I was a little and I managed 2 laps of the pool!! I think I was ok because it was 1.2m depth throughout so I could always reach the bottom so didn't panic about drowning. It felt amazing to swim again and I literally can't stop smiling right now. I'm thinking of using it for my next bucket list event to raise funds for a children's charity. What do you think? A sponsored swim perhaps and how far do people go? ??????????
