Every day, commuters hurry down the Oyster Bar ramp hall at @grandcentralnyc. Few stop to admire the view. But in #MidtownManhattan, this is an oasis of tranquillity where there is no sign of marketing or promotion — just hundreds of wanderers making their ceaseless way. @damonwinter spent about two hours shooting a #timelapse in what the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ reporter David W. Dunlap calls one of “the most imposing, dignified and humanistic public spaces in New York City.” Toward the end of his shoot, feeling restless as he stood in one place, @damonwinter started doing jumping jacks. Although many passersby were consumed with their own affairs, some couldn’t help but notice his athletic efforts. “People were really looking at me like I was crazy,” he said. “I would have to explain how long I had been standing there.”
