What if you could diagnose cancer with your smartphone? This cellphone app can detect cancer much earlier than most tests--and before symptoms start. It uses an iPhone’s camera to look for microRNA in blood samples, which can be a good indication of cancer at very early stages. “Catching cancer early is basically the closest thing we have to a silver bullet cure against it,” says co-creator and engineer Jorge Soto.
