Without dedicated coaches to the profession, the 13,000-plus young ladies competing in the #GJNC over the next 10 days would not experience the same level of excitement and skills training. One of a thousand-plus coaches here in New Orleans this week is Vienna Elite 14s Coach John Park from the Chesapeake Region and Vienna Elite Volleyball Club. He was the first Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) certified coach to pick up his/her CAP Coach Recognition Program “swag bag” on the first day of Girls' Junior National Championships. The CAP Coach Recognition Program, in its third year at the Girls' & Boys' JNC’s, recognizes USAV Junior coaches who have taken the extra step in their professional development to become certified beyond the required IMPACT level. To be eligible for this program coaches must maintain their CAP certification status & must attend continuing education every four years in order to do so, and must be participating as a rostered adult with a team in the Championships. This year Officials who are participating are also eligible for the program. Coaches receive a Mizuno Polo Shirt in their certification color (CAP I = Red, CAP II = White, CAP III = Navy, CAP IV & V = Black), and a swag bag with goodies. #humansofvb
