Serve and Spike (SAS) 15 Red from the Aloha Region is taking inspiration gained from watching the world's top-ranked U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team play in the #USAVcup earlier this month in Honolulu into this week's USAV Girls' Junior National Championships (#GJNC) and hopes it translates into success. Natalie Piper was up close and personal as a floor mopper during the international match that featured World Champion USA versus runner-up China. "It was super fun to be around with all the girls. To see how they interact with each other and see their enthusiasm with each other. They are really good role models for us, and I got to sit right next to them basically as floor mopper." For Kelii McComber, she even got invited to help #USAVwnt's Courtney Thompson. "During the USA vs China match, the USA setter and captain grabbed me and I helped the team while she was warming up setting. That was pretty cool, but I was really nervous because they are super good. I was trying to set back to them, but I am not as good as compared to them." With these experiences, SAS hopes to do even better than last year's medal performance. Savana Greene said "Last year we got third. We hope to get even high this year, maybe even first and get that trophy." But today, SAS is just acclimating to the #NewOrleans weather before starting play on Wednesday. Natalie said "It is kind of crazy because we are not used to this kind of heat. We are used to humid, but this is a whole new level of humidity for us." #humansofvb
