On June 17, 1885, 130 years ago today, the #StatueofLiberty arrived in New York Harbor aboard a steamer from France. "The Great Statue Here," read a front-page headline in @ニューヨーク・タイムズ the following day. A Times reporter who boarded the steamer described Lady Liberty, who was not yet presentable: "The colossal statue weighs 220 tons, and is packed away below decks in 212 boxes, some of them 20 feet long. ...
