Commander Terry Virts of @NASA, cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov of the Russian Federal Space Agency, and Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti from European Space Agency have returned home aboard the Soyuz TMA-15M spacecraft after spending more than six months onboard the International Space Station (@ISS). The trio was supposed to come back to Earth last month, but due to the failure of the Progress M-27M spacecraft, which was supposed to resupply the ISS, these plans were shelved, allowing for Cristoforetti to break the record for the longest period spent in orbit by a woman.
