Health care providers and public officials are now searching for ways to help addicts get clean. But getting people like John Baker (pictured here) of Austin, Ind. off the powerful prescription painkillers can be a challenge. Addicted to the drug Opana, Baker recently tested positive for Hepatitis C. He has tried to get into a program to kick the habit, especially after a childhood friend of his was diagnosed with HIV.
