45/100: trying new things :: I booked a family weekend getaway to a place (not nearby) that we've never traveled to with each other before. Aside from an annual beach trip, I've never done something like this since being a mama. It never ever seems like an ideal or convenient time to do something a little extravagant like visiting a new place outside of the region. There is always a practical reason not to. But with this 100 Day Project, I've been stretching and growing on the inside in new ways even if my daily "trying something new" is just a really small step. I had been daydreaming of a few different places that I long to travel to with my family but it seemed so far out of reach. But recently my son said something to me unexpectedly out of the blue that was so profound and it changed everything. It was one of those moments where I felt like heaven was speaking and Love itself was saying "YES!!!!" to the deepest recesses of my heart. And something broke, like a shell cracking, and a new part of me emerged. It was a miracle. And speaking of miracles, right around this time, I received a voucher for a free few night stay in a NICE hotel, so I decided to do something new, something to love myself, rejoice with Life and celebrate with my family, who inspired this entire excursion. I want my son to have memories like this where even if it's just now and then, we made room to do something wondrous and a little daring. I want him to see that his mama made room to pursue and affirm her own dreams and heart's desires so that he learns to honour his own as well. So. All that to say, I'm humbled and so thankful. When you don't give up on your own heart, especially in the midst of the harder walks along the path, Life has a funny way of reminding you that you so matter as do your dreams.
