Happy birthday to Dutch artist #RinekeDijkstra! Her large-scale color photographs of young, typically adolescent subjects recall 17th-century Dutch painting in their scale and visual sharpness. In 2012, we presented Dijkstra's mid-career retrospective featuring more than 70 large-scale photographs and five video installations, from striking Beach Portraits to videos of dancing teenage club-goers.
