"I photographed #PinkFloyd during their first U.S. tour in 1967. In November of that year they played both Bill Graham’s Fillmore Auditorium and his Winterland venue. Unlike most bands who stayed in the city, Pink Floyd chose to overnight in a small boutique hotel called the Casa Madrona in Sausalito, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. This photo was made at the Casa Madrona; prints from that shoot still adorn the walls of today’s upscale property. On the original bill with Pink Floyd were the bands Procol Harum and HP Lovecraft, both of which I also photographed around the same time."
