Inspired by our current exhibition dedicated to #Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian’s mirror works and drawings, archivists sift through the Guggenheim Archives Artist Files to learn more about her career in New York in the 1970s. View ephemera from the Iranian artist's exhibitions at blogs.guggenheim.org, including pieces from her first one-woman show at the Jacques Kaplan/Mario Ravagnan Gallery in 1975; a New York Times article announcing the show and discussing her career, as well as promoting the preservation of Iranian art; and a press release from another exhibition at Galerie Denise René in 1977. The works mentioned are currently on view in "Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian: Infinite Possibility," our forty-year survey of Monir's mirror works and drawings, through June 3.
