Mom & Pops at one of my shows.
I love this pic. They didn't spend a ton of time with each other after they separated so bringing them together at my shows was always a gift to me.
I love the way I'm holding them here, it says a lot about how I feel about my folks.
I could always lean on George and I always wanted Donna close to me.
My dad and I got to a place where we were a good father and son duo and pals.
My mom and I were super affectionate and protected each other without hesitation.
I miss them at my performances mostly. I used to like coming offstage to applause and adulation only to have them bring me right back down to earth with a few genuine words of encouragement.
Not a day goes by I don't wish I could spend simple quality time with them.
Honestly, I'm not trying to sound sappy, but if you have your parents alive and well be grateful and tell them you are. Life is too short to not take advantage of those fleeting moments.
It's not worth holding onto anger or pain when you can be holding onto them like I am in this picture.
