Stating the obvious: The world of photography is quite different than it was when Magnum was founded by #RobertCapa, #HenriCartierBresson, #DavidSeymour & #GeorgeRodger in 1947. The staggering number of images made per day, the ubiquity of cameras, the ease in which one can make and share a picture, and so much more, has changed the landscape and continues to do so. But, from the very beginning, Magnum photographers seemed to recognize that there was something phenomenal about the world's rapidly increasing interest in making images, and so, they took pictures of people taking pictures. In fact, the Magnum archive is absolutely FULL of photos in which photography itself is the subject!
