The global news network RT is the Kremlin's main weapon in an intensifying information war with the west. With RT, Vladimir Putin has created an alternate reality on TV and online —RT International has more than 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube— that resolutely casts Russia as victim and the West as villain. "No one shows objective reality," Margarita Simonyan, Editor in Chief of RT, tells TIME. "The Western media are not objective, reality-based news sources."
