Of all the incredible photographs made by Magnum's #IngeMorath during her career, none seems to be quite as popular as the Times Square snap of "Linda the llama." The story behind the image is a bit less surreal than the image itself; Morath was photographing in New York and captured the llama in the back of its trainer's car (they were on their way home from a television studio). That same day, Morath took pictures of other "star animals," including one shot of a small steer walking down the sidewalk in Midtown. But it's the llama, something about its expression and the general absurdity of the scene taken out of context, that just seems to stick with people.
