This week-end's #lpinstatakeover is by intrepid #lonelyplanet writer and photographer @stuartbutler1974.
The picture: a chimpanzee in Kibale Forest Uganda, #Africa.
The story behind it: "I first visited Uganda’s Kibale forest some 20yrs ago when a project was just getting under way to habituate some of the forests many chimpanzees to a human presence. Back then I got only the most fleeting of glimpses of the chimps. Years later I returned in order to spend a full day in the forest with a ranger learning about his work and seeing the chimps up close. It was hard to believe how nonchalant the chimps were in our presence and I photographed this one from just a few metres away as it lazed in a tree. I’ve visited all the major chimp reserves in East Africa and I think Kibale might be my favourite." - Stuart Butler
