A sincere thanks to all who have already shared this issue on their networks. Unfortunately, the @Amazon copyright infringement issue effecting photographer Tomas van Houtryve (@TomasVH) has not been fully addressed. This morning he found more illegal products featuring his stolen photo. More troublingly, he also found unauthorized images by many other photographers being sold on #Amazon, including the above images by Daniel Berehulak of an #ebola victim and a Tyler Hicks image of a dead child in #Gaza. In addition to being completely illegal, these phone cases sold on Amazon with grisly photos of child #victims are totally #inappropriate for mass commercialization.
Amazon seems to have confected a business model of anonymous third-party sellers, legal loopholes and automated profit generating algorithms that they can no longer control. Amazon needs to make this right. Six days after Tomas filed his copyright infringement complaint to Amazon, they still can't or won't comply. Please share and repost until Amazon fully complies.
