The beginning of winter marks many celebrations in different cultures the most popular of which is indeed ‪#Christmas. However there's another ancient feast rooted deep in antic Persian culture and celebrated (in different forms) since the times of paganism. Yalda, celebrates the winter solstice on December 20th or 21st.
The word ‪#Yalda means birth, same as the latin-driven Nativity (or "#Natale" in Italian). Tomorrow #OnTheBlog, I'll be celebrating the feasts of winter, Yalda in particular with an authentic winter recipe which I'm not revealing just yet (but you can see some of the ingredients in this picture)
But the party won't be complete without a fabulous group of Persian food bloggers who will share some of the best recipes for this great celebration.
