What has big ears, crossed eyes, and is cute all over??? ROO...that's who! :) Meet the newest member of our family. After Mojo's unexpected passing we visited Florida Humane Society to give them a donation. We were not planning to adopt another cat but you know how that goes...... While we were there we spotted Roo standing upright as you see him in the pic. With his special legs, crossed eyes, and his story we fell in love. After really giving it some thought (due to just losing Mojo) we brought him home a week after meeting him. That was exactly 4 weeks ago. Today we officially adopted him & made him a forever part of our family after 4 weeks of fostering/monitoring & getting him adjusted to make sure everyone (furkids) was going to get along. It's been a very humbling & rewarding experience watching him grow from being scared to come out from under a chair to a kitty that comes to you when you call him and LOVES to snuggle. Every day he lets his guard down and trusts us a little more. I would say now that he is pretty settled. Here's his story.
Roo's life started out being born with a genetic mutation called Radial Hypoplasia also known as "twisty cat" or "kangaroo cat syndrome" hence his name (which we will keep the same because he answers to it) although we've given his name double meaning as he wakes us up right at dawn daily like clockwork like a rooster. He stands on his hind legs (very steadily & balanced) to stop and look around and walks on his elbows. He actually runs quite well.
