Burt Glinn, fellow Magnum member, used to tease me by calling me a 'Commie Photographer.' The funny thing about that is Burt's mother and uncle signed him up to the Communist party when he was seven years old! In fact, when Burt was in the army, he was long overdue for a promotion, and when he inquired about why he was being held back, he was told it was because of his Communist affiliation in 1932.
