This expedition to #climb the first-ever big wall in the interior of #Antarctica was one of the most terrifying I have experienced. Here, as I waited to follow @コンラッド・アンカー up a rope near the summit of “The Razor” in Queen Maud Land, the one thing that kept me sane was looking at the scene through my camera. Because I was shooting film on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック and couldn’t “chimp” to see if all was well - along with waiting for the exact moment when Conrad was in the perfect position - my attention was diverted away from fear. I saw the beauty of my perch and after that actually loved ascending the rope. This is just one image from a presentation I will be giving about my career in Santa Cruz, CA on October 25.
