@hilareeoneill smiling and observing the scene outside of Mandalay just 30 minutes into our 18 hour train ride to Myitkyina, which turned out to be a rugged and sleepless ride. The train lurched so violently at times we were tossed from our seats and convinced it would derail. That didn't happen (thankfully!) and I'm hoping I'll think back and appreciate the experience one day, but I'm not quite there yet. I'm just glad that part is behind us.
