The beginning of a two and a half day hike thru the mountain ranges surrounding the inle lake region. Starting point was a tiny town called Then Taung that we boated into and proceded to walk along a "path" that lead us into people's yards and thru monstery courtyards and pig pens and along a giant beautiful school that trains the novice monks. And finally into the mountains ... Though it it's called the Rainey season I only used my rain coat once the entire hike. That doesn't mean the paths weren't thick with mud. And quite a lot of the trek was full of laughter between myself and my guide. Doing funny little dancing moves to try and keep our shoes dry.
