At the bookstore I met Duchess, a very sweet pitbull who is available for adoption from the @aspca in NYC. Duchess has been living in the shelter for 8 months (I was in a shelter for 4 months and it sucked!). Visit ASPCA.org/adopt to adopt Duchess and/or other pups.
I think it's way more awesome & gratifying to adopt than to buy puppies from the Internets or pet stores, which typically have pretty dark stories behind them. #adoptdontshop #4realtho
