I thought today id write about cravings... Everyone has them, everyone knows what they are and everyone hates them. I can't speak for men but I know for woman (in my case anyway) we tend to crave certain things more so at a certain time of the month due to our hormones. In fact for me I become some kind of deranged bread / chocolate muncher and sulk like a teenager who's just been grounded! So apologies to the people who put up with me during that time ;) its crazy how our minds and bodies react the minute we restrict ourselves from being able to have something we think we desire. Its like an itch you can't scratch or an annoying sound you can't turn off. No matter what you will not rest until you have the thing that your craving, you don't even need to be hungry! Jeez I've gone as far as in the past to get changed out of my Pjs, get in the car and drive to the supermarket running up the aisle to find whatever I need and within minutes of eating it your filled with "I wish I hadn't done that" "I hate myself now" "I have no self control" Its just crazy!!! In reality a craving weather it be hormonal, conscious or subconscious is usually a challenge of your will power. Will power is like a muscle and can be made stronger or weaker. It helps us choose what we want, when we want it instead of us being a slave to it. Having the will power to ignore or switch off your cravings will make you feel more powerful, in charge of yourself and ultimately, happier. The feeling of satisfaction I get knowing I didn't cave is so good! Next time you have a craving just stop and think to yourself before you instantly give in to it. Its your body, your mind and YOU are in control and with each craving you ignore, you will become stronger& stronger until eventually they will appear less and less.
