When you don’t have a mom, you need a friend you can talk to and hug.  Photo by @Tim Laman on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック of captive orangutans at the International Animal Rescue center in Ketapang, Indonesia. These baby orangutans don’t have their mom’s as they were captured from the wild and sold for pets, and their mom’s probably killed.  But lucky for them they have been confiscated from owners and taken to the International Animal Rescue center, where they can socialize with other orangutans for comfort and learn from each other and from trainers the skills they need to survive in the wild.  When they are old enough, they may have a chance to get released into a forest sanctuary. #Borneo, #Orangutan, @Tim Laman, @thephotosociety
