The program of creative intervention proclaimed by Futurist artists Giacomo Balla and Fortunato Depero in their 1915 manifesto “Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe” was to encompass not only the full spectrum of the arts and architecture but also interior design and objects for domestic use. Tonight at 6:30 pm, @wolfsonian Curator Silvia Barisione will explore Futurist design and decorative arts starting from the activity of the so-called “Case d’Arte,” Futurist workshops for the creation of furnishings, textiles, toys and household goods to the Futurist ceramic production sanctioned by the publication of the manifesto “Ceramica e aeroceramica—Manifesto futurista” in 1938.
