Meet and hear artist Iván Navarro speak about the social and political influences of his work at the Guggenheim in the first of our "Siesta Talks" this Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 pm. Navarro’s "Homeless Lamp, the Juice Sucker (2004–05)," a video and installation in the our exhibition Under the Same Sun, uses a shopping cart made of fluorescent lamps to raise awareness of urban poverty and question pervasive consumption—while also recalling Dan Flavin’s iconic light works.
