Everything that happens each day gives me even more of a reason to sit in silence a little bit everyday.
A friend told me this last night. At the end of our life time, maybe we'll have the ability to sit in silence for the bigger part of the day. I hope so.

This was the first time I went in the ocean after the surgery. Dennis took this picture without me knowing and I know I am crying and crying with the ocean here but in the picture you can't tell. It looks peaceful. Ringo is watching out for me.

Grief scratches at our outer layers and leaves us raw, open, vulnerable. Through the little cracks in our hearts there is new light coming in and it hurts. It's like the universe is poking at my wounds, scraping off the scabs, pushing me out the front door of life every day telling me to do the best I can with what I've got right now. I am feeling. And learning. And growing. It's like growing pains, for your heart.

I'm going to get out of bed now. Eat food. Drink water. Get a massage. Put one foot in front of the other and see where today takes me. Maybe at the end of it I'll find a moment of silence.
